Housing and Economic Opportunities, Inc.(HEO)
HEO is an instrumentality of WHA. HEO was incorporated as a non-profit organization on November 5, 1998 for the purpose of developing and operating affordable housing and promoting economic development. The vision of the WHA was to incorporate a non-profit instrumentality in order to enhance and expand the housing choices already available to the citizens of Wilmington and the surrounding areas. HEO has done just this with the development of neighborhoods throughout Wilmington.
Mission Statement
To offer affordable housing and support so that no one shall believe they should live in substandard housing due to financial or social conditions.
Our Vision
Our vision can be successfully reached by attaining these goals:
- To develop affordable housing options for low and moderate income families;
- To aid and support the effort of home ownership through federal, state, local, and private resources;
- To revitalize neighborhoods and current living environments through the construction of new and safe properties;
- To project a public image that welcomes and invites the community to take advantage of our services.
